During the years we have produced a lot of templates, product catalogues, books, manuals, encyclopedias, etc. Below you will find some examples of work we have done. We have chosen a few companies that you might have heard of outside Sweden. Nationalencyklopedin This is the Swedish National Encyclopedia, a series of 23 books. The first 20 was made by hand, cutting and pasting on a clipboard. When they wanted to print the last 3 supplementary books, with corrections and new articles, they also wanted to make everything searchable on the web. As a first step they converted their old database to a SGML database, Sigmalink from STEP Software, a commonly used database for lexicas. Mallverkstan took a SGML file exported from the database, converted it to a FrameMaker file via XML, and imported the converted files in a FrameMaker template. This process were made several times during the proof reading stage. Mallverkstan also produced the complete 3 book set of approx. 1800 pages with 300 tables and 600 pictures. 2 persons did the whole production from SGML to printable PDF documents in 2 months time, including 3 rounds of proof-reading and corrections in the FrameMaker documents. This was a one-time-only process. There will be no more printed books. Instead, all articles are published on the web (www.ne.se). NB! Only in Swedish. Do you want more information?
